StaffThe office staff is composed of 2 doctors (Drs. Diego Saporta and Magalie Nelson); 3 allergy nurses (Ms. Ana Dieguez, Ms. Ana Hernandez, and Ms. Marilyn Robles); an Audiologist (Ms. Sheila Chapatwalla) and the front desk staff with Ms. Diana Palomino, Ms. Miranda Martinez, Ms. Maritza Huertas and Ms. Millie Colon.

Ilana Saporta, the administrator takes pride in keeping a warm and welcoming environment where each patient is considered a unique individual with unique needs that will be specifically considered and addressed. The front desk staff is courteous and professional and works to make patients feel at home. They interact with the patients, schedule their appointments and help patients go through the maze that the present day medical system imposes on all of us.

Dr. Saporta

Diego Saporta, MD, is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist with special interest in the management of allergic conditions.

After completing an ENT residency at the Republic’s University in Montevideo-Uruguay, Dr. Saporta completed 2 years of Research at the ENT Department of the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. He subsequently completed an ENT Residency at the Presbyterian Hospital in NYC in July 1990.

Early in his career, Dr. Saporta recognized the importance of allergy in the development of ENT-related pathology, and became a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA), becoming subsequently a Fellow of said Academy.

Doctors Saporta and NelsonDr. Saporta is aware of the impact that the environment produces on the health of the patient and when a patient’s case is evaluated and allergies are thought to be the cause of the problem, the environment is always kept in the equation, helping the patient acquire tools to improve his/her health.

Dr. Nelson

Dr. Magalie Nelson is a Mount Sinai graduate who joined the practice in December 2006. She graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and completed her ENT residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC in July 2005. She is a board certified ENT Surgeon with a special interest in Sinus pathology, Allergy, Pediatrics, Voice disorders, Sleep Apnea and Thyroid surgery. She has a busy pediatric practice. She quickly develops a good rapport with children, and she is able to counsel parents as to how to solve common problems that develop during childhood and interfere with the quality of life of the pediatric otolaryngologic patient.

It is very easy to get to the office as Routes 82 (Morris Ave), 419 (Elmora Ave-North Ave) and 28 (Westfield Ave) are all close by. The office is located 4 blocks from the Kean University. If coming from the Garden state Parkway, exit 137 towards Elizabeth is at 2.5 miles, and if coming from the New Jersey Turnpike, exit 13 towards Bayway Ave is a couple of miles from the office.

Appointments

Appointments can be made in person or by phone at (908) 352 6700.

Hours

The office is open from Monday through Friday. There is a flexible schedule that sometimes changes through the year. In general office hours are as follows:

Doctor’s hours:

  • Monday: 9 am to 7 pm
  • Tuesday: 9 am to 6 pm
  • Wednesday: 9 am to 7 pm
  • Thursday: 9 am to 6 pm
  • Friday: 9am to 1 PM

Allergy testing is performed on:

  • Mondays between 10 am and 6 pm
  • Tuesdays between 10 am and 5 pm
  • Wednesdays between 10 am and 6 pm

Food testing is performed the first Thursday of every month.

Allergy shots are given on:

  • Mondays: 11 am to 6:30 pm
  • Tuesdays: 10 am to 6 pm
  • Wednesdays: 10 am to 6:30 pm
  • Thursdays: 9 am to 5:30 pm
